Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Correctional Med/Surg position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and an active IL RN license.
Details- Correctional facility setting
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
- Charting via Cerner
- This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, potentially to a variety of units including outside their primary area of competency
- Floating may be required up to 50 miles from the primary facility, with as little as 2 hours' notice before a shift
- Free parking available on a first come, first serve basis
- Active IL RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
- Correctional nursing experience preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- When floated outside of primary competency, a team-based care model will be utilized
- Proof of COVID vaccination is required — no exceptions (booster not required)
- RTO is capped at 5 days maximum for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
- No RTO will be approved on weekends
- No RTO on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
- No block scheduling or special scheduling accommodations will be approved
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius of the facility are accepted
