Duration: 13 Weeks

• Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12-hour shifts)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Additional Requirements:
• Floating required based on unit needs
• Call may be required depending on staffing needs

Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a dynamic Medical Surgical / GI Overflow unit. This role involves caring for patients in a high-demand overflow setting that functions as a Med/Surg Telemetry unit.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment. Flexibility to float across Med/Surg units is essential.

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and vital signs
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Perform blood glucose monitoring and testing
• Provide feeding tube care and management
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and maintenance (male and female)
• Administer medications (IM, SQ, oral, ophthalmic, otic)
• Assist with NG tube and G-tube care
• Support patient mobility, hygiene, and daily care activities
• Administer oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face mask)
• Follow infection control and isolation protocols
• Communicate patient updates effectively with RNs and physicians
• Utilize SBAR for patient handoffs
• Document accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed

• Active LPN License – State of New York
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
• Experience with Med/Surg Telemetry patients
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to float and manage varying patient assignments

• Previous charge experience
• Experience in Emergency Department or Telemetry settings
• Experience with high-acuity or overflow Med/Surg patients
• First-time travelers welcome

• LPN License – New York (Required)
• BLS Certification (Required)
