ATSS has a client in Plymouth, NC looking for a Electrical Project Engineer.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer for a contract-to-direct opportunity with a top-tier client in the pulp and paper industry, located in the historic waterfront town of Plymouth, North Carolina.

The Electrical Project Engineer will support the planning, design, and execution of E&I projects at the facility, working closely with the Project Manager and multi-disciplinary teams. You will coordinate project tasks, develop instrumentation drawings, manage budgets, and ensure deliverables meet quality and operational standards.

This is an ideal role for someone with hands-on industrial project experience who enjoys both independent problem-solving and collaborative project work.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in the planning and implementation of E&I projects, including scopes, goals, and deliverables.

Support development of instrument diagrams, loop diagrams, panel layouts, junction box layouts, wiring diagrams, and installation details.

Define and allocate project tasks and assist in scheduling timelines and resources.

Manage small project budgets and report on progress using project tracking tools.

Communicate and coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to align goals and expectations.

Attend and occasionally lead meetings, recording action items and providing project updates.

Assist in developing technical proposals and change notices for client approval.

Work with schedulers to maintain and distribute project timelines and stakeholder updates.

Ensure quality standards and project documentation are upheld throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, ideally within pulp and paper or similar heavy industry.

Strong familiarity with E&I systems and industrial project environments.

Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows-based platforms.

Experience in budgeting, scheduling, and project reporting.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.

Candidates must be local to or willing to commute to Plymouth, NC.
