Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of L&D or Level 2 Nursery experience and current NRP certification.
Details- Acute care hospital setting with 8 L&D beds, 2 OR suites, 2 triage beds, and 10 postpartum beds
- Unit covers L&D, postpartum, and mother-baby (L&D/PP/MB)
- Med-to-high risk OB patient population with approximately 1,500 births per year
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- RNs are required to titrate drips; common titratable drips are used on this unit
- Fetal monitoring is performed by RNs using the Centricity EFM system
- RT equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) is run but not initiated by RNs
- OB and Neonatologist are in-house 24/7; charge nurse and house supervisor are available
- Nurse aides and surgical techs are present on the unit
- EMR: Epic
- 12-hour day shifts with some weekend requirements
- Holiday coverage is required
- No on-call or standby requirement
- No floating required
- Active WA state or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of L&D or Level 2 Nursery experience required
- Copy of driver's license required
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked — must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
- Scrubs are blue and are provided by the facility
- Orientation is conducted on the unit (12 hours)
- 13-week contract
