OB SUMMARY
he Outside Sales Representative works closely with the Director of Sales to develop and execute
customer ccount strategies, utilizing a customer relationship management tool for effective
communication and eporting. This role is responsible for achieving annual sales targets by driving
market development and ostering growth in both channel and customer relationships.
he ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility and possesses excellent interpersonal skills, project
coordination xperience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of internal

management and staff, as well s external customers and vendors.

SSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching
and recommending new opportunities and service improvements.
  • Identify business opportunities by establishing contact and developing relationships with sales
prospects.
  • Develop and execute annual sales plan and expense budgets for assigned accounts in support of
the Company"s strategic plan.
  • Perform data analysis for customer performance measures.
  • Proven ability to motivate and empower sales team members.
  • Extensive travel (50% or more) to customer locations, trade shows or events in assigned
region.
  • Accountable for developing and monitoring sales processes and practices necessary for legal and
ethical compliance in assigned area.
  • Evaluate potential customers" needs and configure products to satisfy those needs.
  • Initiate sales contracts for customers to meet their needs and company profitability

targets.

  • Evaluate the market needs and work with the engineering group to develop the product
line.
  • Other duties as assigned.
ACHINERY/TOOLS USED
  • Computer, keyboard, multi-line telephone, copy machine, fax machine, 10-key calculator and other
equipment/machines common to an office environment, and basic hand tools during trade shows, field

training and product demonstrations.

UALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: o perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

  • Education, Training, Experience and Abilities

o Bachelor"s degree in business or related field is preferred.

o 6+ years" experience in sales and marketing, preferably capital goods and even more so with a
transportation company or transportation related manufacturer.

o Experience creating and executing sales plans.

o Experience with direct sales, one-tier and two-tier distribution systems and knowledge of
international commerce.
o Demonstrated ability in product presentation and technical selling.

o Proven customer service skills at an outstanding level in a professional environment.

o Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of team members in a manufacturing and motor
vehicle environment.

o Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, outside contractors and customers.

o Ability to facilitate activities necessary to a project"s completion, meeting deadlines and
achieving required results.

o Experience with writing and reviewing contractual language.

o Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team, and possess a high level of
self-motivation in a fast-paced environment.
o Must have demonstrated history of impeccable integrity, ethics and fair play.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office.
o Must observe safety standards established by the Company; cooperate with the Company in
maintaining a safe workplace; report any potential hazards to management; and be aware of emergency
exits as well as the location of fire extinguishers and first aid equipment.
o Must have an active driver"s license with a driving record that is insurable.
o Ability to plan and book flights, hotels and rental cars and travel independently.

o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information in the English language, including governmental documents, regulations, periodicals, professional journals, engineering

drawings and technical procedures.

o Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural information.
o Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, applicants, and the general public.
o Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to
practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar
graphs and other charts or tables.
o Ability to understand and compute margins and markups.

o Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

o Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with

abstract and concrete variables.

o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where standardized

methods and procedures exist but customer requirements and work situations may vary.

ORK ENVIRONMENT
he performance of this position requires work in a traditional office environment, as well as in
manufacturing reas where the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses with side
shields, hearing rotection and respirators may be required.
