Senior Manager of Public Relations and Activations
The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller, results-driven leader, and creative thinker who thrives at the intersection of communications, brand marketing, and experiential engagement. Ability and willingness to travel as needed to brand activation events on a cadence of 1x per month or every other month.
Key Responsibilities:Public Relations-Develop and oversee comprehensive PR strategies that align with business objectives and brand positioning.-Manage relationships with external PR agencies, ensuring alignment with brand goals, messaging, and deliverables.-Provide strategic direction and feedback to agency partners on media outreach, press materials, and campaign execution.-Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, influencers, and industry partners.-Oversee the creation and approval of press releases, media kits, thought leadership pieces, and executive communications.-Coordinate with agencies on media opportunities, press inquiries, and crisis communications, ensuring timely and consistent messaging.-Monitor industry trends, media coverage, and competitive activity to inform PR strategy and identify opportunities for visibility.
Activations & Brand Engagement-Lead the planning, execution, and measurement of brand activations, experiential campaigns, and sponsorships.-Manage and direct external agencies and vendors, ensuring creative concepts, production, and execution align with brand objectives and standards.-Partner with agencies on ideation, logistics, and execution of large-scale activations, events, and sponsorship programs.-Collaborate with cross-functional teams and agency partners to ensure activations integrate seamlessly with marketing, digital, and social strategies.-Negotiate and manage agency, vendor, and sponsorship contracts to maximize ROI and efficiency.-Drive creative ideation for activations that build brand equity, consumer engagement, and media buzz.-Ensure events and experiences deliver on brand objectives, audience engagement, and quality standards.-Travel to site of new brand activations to ensure smooth launch Leadership & Strategy-Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of PR and activation specialists.-Collaborate closely with marketing, creative, and executive leadership to align brand messaging and strategic initiatives.-Establish KPIs, measure performance, and report on results of PR and activation efforts.-Manage PR and activations budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
Qualifications:-Bachelor's degree in public relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).-7+ years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, or brand activations, ideally in an agency or fast-paced brand environment.-Proven track record of leading successful PR campaigns and large-scale brand activations.-Strong media relations and crisis management expertise.-Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.-Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and influence senior stakeholders.-Creative thinker with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Target Salary Range: $ 85,000 - 95,000
