Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Unit

Pay Rate: Local $50–$58/hr | Traveler $62–$72/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical/Surgical Unit in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, recent Med/Surg experience, and the ability to provide high-quality patient-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide direct bedside nursing care to medical and surgical patients.
• Administer medications safely and accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions and identify clinical changes promptly.
• Perform wound care, IV insertion, catheter management, and other nursing procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and healthcare teams.
• Coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and hospital policies.

• Active New York State RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA).
• ACLS Certification (AHA).
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Recent Med/Surg experience within the last 12 months.
• Acute care hospital experience required.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
