Responsibilities- Forklift Operator Responsibilities
The operator is the first line of defense against workplace accidents. Their core duties include:
Pre-Shift & Maintenance Responsibilities- Conducting Inspections: Performing a mandatory visual and operational check before every shift (checking fluids, tires, brakes, horn, and the hydraulic mast).
- Grounding Unsafe Equipment: Immediately removing a defective forklift from service, tagging it out, and reporting the issue to a supervisor. Never operate a malfunctioning truck.
- Logkeeping: Accurately maintaining the forklift’s daily usage and inspection logs.
