Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit position requiring 1+ year of experience, an active IL RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications.
Details- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active IL RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Competent in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
- Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care including respiratory support and IV therapy management
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days, with no more than 3 days off and no time off during the first or last week of the contract
- Former UChicago Medicine or Ingalls permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least 7 months before returning as a traveler
