Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Operating Room position in Raleigh, NC, requiring L&D experience and current Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.
Details- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit featuring a 3-bay OBED, 20 labor rooms, 3 ORs, and 3 PACU bays
- Patient population includes laboring, delivering, and recovering patients, as well as high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients
- Travelers rotate through OBED, L&D, and OB PACU — OR circulation is not required of travelers
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- 48 hours per week, 4 days per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- No on-call requirements
- Free parking available on-site
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), and NRP
- Current and active AWHONN or GE Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Prior L&D experience required
- Ability to perform OB triage required
- Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school (BSN or MSN preferred)
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation across complex OB patient populations
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and appropriate discharge planning
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
- Identifies and addresses cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning
- Drug screen must be completed within 24 hours of commitment to the position
- Background check and drug screen results may take a minimum of 2 weeks to process
