Key Responsibilities:
- Review drawings to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
- Assist engineering with bill of material accuracy, cost estimating, planning and specifications development
- Develops CAD models, Bills of Materials (BOM’s), Job Routings, set-up sheets and occasionally programs for machine tools.
- Create drawings for components and assemblies
- Perform design optimization for parts and assemblies including material selection, weight savings, and budget
- Perform tolerance stack-ups (including statistical)
- Participate in FMEAs and design reviews
- Providing CAD drawings to support sales, production and new product development
- Work with a team to develop new products, improve manufacturing practices, quality control improvement and documentation
- Provides process plans and cycle times for cost estimates for quoting new work.
Skills:
- BSME/BSIE or Engineering Technology
- Internship experience to 0-2 years of experience
- Proficient computer skills in Creo or SolidWorks, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to read drawing schematics & layouts
- Develop process routers and Bills of Materials.
- Understand sheet metal fabrication processes and machining processes.
- Trained in Lean Manufacturing principles
- Interested working in an automotive manufacturer
