ED/CL Psychiatrist (Per Diem) | Greenwich Hospital

Greenwich Hospital is a 206-bed regional medical center serving Fairfield County, Connecticut, and Westchester County, New York. Responsibilities:
- - Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and treatment services for patients presenting with mental health and emotional concerns in the Outpatient Psychiatric Treatment Center, Hospital Emergency Department, and Inpatient Psychiatry Unit
- Serve as an effective and collaborative member of the multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical record (EMR) documentation for patients receiving psychiatric care.
- Support the productivity, operational efficiency, and quality initiatives of the Psychiatric Treatment Center.
- Foster positive patient, family, and guest relations by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
- Demonstrate the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan, incorporating principles of growth and development into assessment, treatment planning, and patient management
- Assess and interpret patient information to identify individualized needs and deliver care in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Participate in the academic and educational mission of Yale School of Medicine, including the teaching and mentorship of medical residents, fellows, and medical students.
Qualifications:
Education- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
- Experience providing psychiatric care within an Emergency Department (ED) and/or Consultation-Liaison (C/L) Psychiatry service.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency care environment.
- Experience performing a full range of psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and therapeutic interventions.
- Active Connecticut medical license and DEA registration required.
- New York medical license required within six months of hire (licensure costs covered by the hospital).
- Board Certification in Psychiatry preferred; Board-Eligible candidates will be considered.
- Experience or specialized training in Addiction Psychiatry preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Moderate amount of walking throughout the workday.
- Ability to manage the demands of a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Moderate stress associated with providing care to patients and families and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members.
