Position Summary

Teton Science Schools is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Director of Program Innovation to help lead innovative educational programs, strategic initiatives, and cross-organizational projects across TSS.

This role focuses on strengthening program quality, supporting educational innovation, advancing mission-aligned growth, and helping expand the impact of TSS through collaboration, research, and strategic program development.

Key Responsibilities

Program Innovation & Development
  • Support the development and improvement of educational programs and curriculum across TSS.
  • Identify opportunities for new programs, partnerships, and mission-aligned initiatives.
  • Help ensure high-quality, innovative learning experiences rooted in place-based and experiential education.
Strategic Projects & Collaboration
  • Lead and support cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives.
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration across departments, campuses, and external partners.
  • Assist with organizational planning, implementation, and long-term strategic initiatives.
Research, Evaluation & Growth
  • Support research, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts across programs.
  • Help measure and communicate organizational impact through data, storytelling, and reporting.
  • Monitor educational and industry trends to help keep TSS innovative and forward-thinking.
Leadership & Culture
  • Serve as a collaborative partner to leaders, educators, and staff across TSS.
  • Support professional development, innovation, and organizational learning initiatives.
  • Help foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, accountability, and mission alignment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Education, Organizational Leadership, Environmental Education, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of leadership experience in education, program development, innovation, or related fields.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in nonprofits, independent schools, outdoor education, conservation, or higher education.
  • Experience with research, grants, impact evaluation, or strategic initiatives.
  • Familiarity with place-based, experiential, or environmental education models.

Work Environment

This role includes office, campus, classroom, and occasional field-based work. Some evening, weekend, and travel commitments may be required.

The Director of Program Innovation will help strengthen educational quality, innovation, collaboration, and long-term mission impact across Teton Science Schools.
