Indigo Industries supports APEX, a DoD experimentation program that puts new technologies in front of warfighters and measures how they perform. We're hiring a hands-on cloud engineer to lead how APEX's knowledge- and data-management tools get deployed into the government's classified cloud environments (JCDE / Morpheus).You'll be the technical lead who makes the integration actually work — architecting the deployment, standing up secure pipelines, and serving as the go-to engineer at experimentation sites. Core responsibilities
- Architect and deploy APEX cloud capabilities into classified environments, including edge compute integration.
- Build and manage secure CI/CD pipelines and network layouts across high- and low-side environments.
- Drive the security and compliance path — RMF, ATO lifecycle, and frameworks like NIST, FedRAMP, and CMMC.
- Integrate with external DoD networks and databases: APIs, data schemas, feature requests.
- Provide on-site technical support and SME guidance at experimentation locations.
- Translate mission requirements into technical specs for enterprise IT partners. What you need (required)
- Active TS/SCI clearance • 8+ years in cloud/systems engineering (strong candidates with 5+ years and direct DoD experience considered).
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure in classified environments.
- Proven experience with DoD RMF, ATO, and DevSecOps processes.
- IAT/IAM Level II or III cert (Security+, CISSP, or CISM).
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field. Nice to have
- A cloud architecture cert (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with Test & Evaluation or Mission Engineering environments.
