Job Details- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 – $2,370
- Location: Youngstown, Ohio (44504) — travel nursing position, Ohio nursing jobs
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shifts, Monday–Friday; shift durations may be 8, 10, or 12 hours, with a preference for 8-hour shifts
- Shift Duration: 8, 10, or 12-hour day shifts available (preference for 8-hour shifts; per diem/shift variations may occur)
- Hours per Week: 36
- On Call: 10–12 call shifts per 6-week schedule; includes 1–2 weekends and 1–2 weeknights per week
- Call Turnaround: 30 minutes (call rooms available as needed)
- Unit: 2 CVORs with a hybrid room for TAVRs — cardiovascular operating room (CVOR), cardiac OR
- Average Caseload: 2–6 cases per day; ~6 cardiac cases per week
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac operating room (CVOR) experience — cardiac OR nurse / perioperative RN experience required
- 1–2 years of general OR experience
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred (travel RN, travel nurse CVOR)
- Current RN license in Ohio or Compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke Certification required
- Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide available)
- CNOR, PALS, SGNA certifications preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Provide perioperative nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Deliver pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care for cardiac surgical patients, including CABG, TAVR, VATS, and general surgery assistance
- Coordinate patient education, discharge instructions, and serve as a point of contact across hospital departments
- Manage surgical instrumentation, maintain aseptic technique, and ensure a safe CVOR environment
- Assist anesthesia during induction and emergence and collaborate with the multidisciplinary surgical team
- Advocate for patient safety, participate in quality improvement, and document care per hospital policy
- Support and educate patients and families throughout the surgical process
- Specialized travel nursing role for experienced CVOR/cardiac OR RNs
- Work with hybrid CVORs and advanced cardiac procedures (TAVR experience valued)
