Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a 13-week night shift travel assignment requiring ARDMS registration and a minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience.
Details- Inpatient hospital ultrasound department setting
- Performs imaging across multiple modalities including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, vascular, and small parts sonography
- 3x12-hour night shifts per week
- May be required to float to other departments within clinical scope before core staff is floated
- Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience required
- Associate or bachelor's degree from a CAHEA-accredited sonography program or equivalent
- ARDMS registration with OBMI credential required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- CRASE training preferred; required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
- License required if applicable
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with patient transfers over 100 lbs using proper technique or mechanical aids
- Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
- Serves as an advanced user resource with in-depth knowledge of all clinical ultrasound applications, workflow, and modality principles
- Responsibilities include corroborating patient clinical history with procedures, selecting and operating ultrasound equipment, evaluating image quality, and assisting with interventional procedures
- May prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media or medications as permitted by state statute and institutional policy
- Provides practical instruction for students and other healthcare professionals and participates in departmental quality assessment and improvement initiatives
- Role involves frequent exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials; adherence to PPE and safety protocols is expected
- Works in a fast-paced, unpredictable healthcare environment requiring the ability to respond to high-pressure and emergency situations
