Physician Assistant

The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for comprehensive direct patient care working in conjunction with a supervising Physician. The PA manages a caseload of patients and exercises autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of delegated medical treatments.

Reports To: Chief Medical Director

Responsibilities:

• Serve as an advocate in the delivery of compassionate, comprehensive care to patients and their families(link removed)
• Utilize expert knowledge, skills and abilities to strengthen clinical practice in their specialty throughout the organization(link removed)
• Evaluate patient outcomes and revise plans of care accordingly(link removed)
• Accurately interpret diagnostic tests.
• Communicate any abnormalities or complications with the medical staff. This consultation may result in co-management or referral of client to medical management(link removed)
• Develop problem lists with associated differential diagnosis(link removed)
• Identify educational needs of the client and family and assist with teaching.
• Incorporate assessment finding into a plan to direct client care(link removed)
• Formulate a plan of care in collaboration with the client, family, physician, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team which incorporates health care maintenance, teaching, and follow-up care(link removed)
• Accurately and appropriately perform routine diagnostic and therapeutic techniques according to established protocols and standardized procedures(link removed)
• Seek appropriate consultation dependent upon client health care needs.
