Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring rhythm strip interpretation competency and every other weekend availability.
Details- Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Involves EKG use and rhythm strip interpretation
- Active IL RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required in work history
- ICU-only experience does not meet telemetry experience requirement
- Must pass EKG strip test at orientation
- Experience with chronic vent patients
- Competence in rhythm strip interpretation required
- Experience initiating and maintaining cardiac drips such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and cardizem preferred
- Assess acute changes in patients within a fast-paced telemetry environment
- Manage cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Provide care for genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and respiratory needs including CBI, feeding tube management, and tracheostomy care
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days, with no RTO requests during the first or last week of the contract
- Former staff of University of Chicago Medicine or Ingalls Memorial Hospital locations must have separated employment for at least 7 months before returning as a traveler
