Compensation:
$47,840 - $85,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and maintaining legal documents, pleadings, and discovery to ensure seamless case management
- Coordinate with clients and other parties to gather necessary information and documentation for probate cases
- Draft and file legal documents with courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
- Maintain organized case files and databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date and easily accessible
- Conduct legal research to support attorneys in developing case strategies and arguments
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and answering inquiries to enhance client satisfaction
- Answer telephones, make interoffice memos, and coordinate potential new client calls with attorneys
- Assist the team as needed
Qualifications:
- An ABA-approved paralegal certification
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, Clio), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Receptive to feedback and can demonstrate the ability to incorporate said feedback into future workflow
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well independently, as well as effectively within a team
- Ability to synthesize information to prioritize and organize tasks
- Ability to work in the office five days per week
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism
- Flexibility and willingness to perform a wide range of tasks extending beyond routine expectations
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrates close attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others, including clients
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials; relevant work experience a plus
- Available to work overtime
- Experience working in estate, probate, and/or litigation is preferred
- Typing speed of 65wpm+
