About the opportunity…
As an integral part of the “we can do that” operation, this position is responsible to perform all tasks related to accounts receivables and payables. Specifically:
- oversee and assist controller with all accounting activities, including payables, deposits, process vehilce transaction deals and related processes
- responsible for accounting activites for two dealership brands; Maple Hyundai and Genesis Maple
- monitor the company’s policies, and accounting practices
- work with the dealership management team; provide insights and feedback to ensure exceptional financial results while minimizing risk and exposure
- manage relationships with external stakeholders such as lending institutions, shareholders, external accountants, taxation authorities, and others
- run schedules and journals, as directed
- perform cash balancing, bank deposits and reconciliations
- post invoices and prepare cheques, as required
- prepare deposits and maintain procedures for the handling of cash control
- assist in prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting packages and reporting processes
- process and submit insurance and warranty remittances, and reconcile related schedules
- champion cash management processes and systems to ensure strong liquidity
- champion internal processes and procedure improvements and maintain documentation to that effect
About you…
Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in accounting administration and processing, including:
- 3+ years of proven assistant controller /dealership accounting experience
- post-secondary education in accounting or finance
- proficiency working with ERP systems (ie. CDK/Reynolds)
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
- ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written)
- strong attention to detail, organized and strategic
- ability to maintain professionalism
- ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- self-motivated and driven with a passion for excellence in execution
- a desire to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
