Medical Director, Flow Cytometry
Location: Berkeley, CA
Remote eligible; preference for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area
Position Summary:
We are supporting a pathology and diagnostics organization in the search for a Medical Director, Flow Cytometry. This role provides medical leadership and oversight for flow cytometry and relatedhematopathology services, combining clinical sign-out responsibilities with operational and quality
management. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to apply clinical expertise while
contributing to operational excellence in a high-quality laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide medical direction and oversight for flow cytometry servicesSign out Flow Cytometry, FISH, and Bone Marrow cases
Deliver clinical consultation services to referring providers
Oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) initiatives
Support laboratory operations, staffing, and workflow efficiency
Collaborate with leadership on laboratory growth, outreach, and service development
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensure standards
Required Qualifications:
MD with completion of a Hematopathology FellowshipDemonstrated experience with: Flow Cytometry, FISH testing, Bone marrow interpretation
Active California medical license requiredStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
