Position Description

We are seeking an Equipment Operator to support aerial and underground fiber-construction projects. This role operates heavy equipment, assists field crews, performs routine equipment checks, and helps ensure safe and efficient job-site operations.Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, and travel to job sites—including overnight out-of-town assignments—is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, and rock saws
- Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation
- Assist crews with groundwork and installation tasks
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of underground and overhead utilities
- Load, unload, and secure equipment and materials
- Work outdoors in all weather and terrain conditions
- Travel to job sites, including overnight out-of-town assignments; overtime may be required
- Participate in required training and perform traffic control as needed

Position Requirements- Experience operating heavy construction equipment; telecom/utility experience preferred
- Ability to read and follow construction plans and job specifications
- Strong understanding of job-site safety and utility-location awareness
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and commitment to safe work practices
- Ability to work outdoors and travel as needed
