Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- Acute care hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an oncology focus
- Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy cases, symptom management, and comorbidity management
- Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
- Epic EMR experience required
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Rotating day/night shift scheduling possible based on department needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
- Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Active OH or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation required
- Required clinical skills: port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV insertion, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration is a core responsibility of this unit
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this health system (exception: Sterile Processing Techs still require a 30-day break)
