Unit Specifics:
- Number of Beds : 210
- Patient Ratios : Variable
- Unit staffing description- dayshift 6-8 RT’s l nightshift 4-6 RT’s
- Type of equipment : Puritan Bennett 840’s & 980’s; Hamilton G-5; Phillips V30’s & V60’s; Vapotherm
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling requirements: Rotating weekends; Block scheduling available predicated on shift
- Floating policy: NA
- Patient Experience requirements: Top Notch
- Certifications: Leap Frog; Chest Pain Center; Level 2 Trauma
Must have: Must be proficient in all Respiratory care interventions including: ABG analysis, Nebs, IS, Acapella, PEP therapy, Metaneb, Optiflow HHF, Vaporther HHF, Non-Invasive and Invasive Ventilation. Facility has advance protocols so multi-modal mindset and physician engagement skills are a requisite.
Advanced skills needed: Must be proficient in all Respiratory care interventions including endotracheal intubation, arterial cannulation, higher knowledge of advance vent modes and airway management including ability for tracheostomy change.Balloon pump management would be exceedingly useful but not requisite.
