Financial & Budgetary Ownership- P&L Co-Ownership: Manage the RCM P&L-including revenue, cost structure, EBITDA, and cash flow performance-alongside the EVP of RCM.
- Budget & Cost Control: Oversee the full RCM budget across staffing, external vendors, and technology investments while conducting monthly variance analyses.
- Financial Benchmarking: Establish and monitor operational cost-per-unit metrics, net collection rates, days in AR, and denial/write-off rates.
- Long-Range Modeling: Build financial models that accurately account for company growth, acquisitions, payer mix shifts, and strategic resource management.
- Cash Optimization: Drive enterprise-wide initiatives to accelerate cash collection, improve overall yield, and lower core operational costs.
- Payer Trend Analysis: Quantify ongoing payer trends, evaluate their exact impact on net revenue, and proactively flag financial risks to the CFO and executive team.
- Revenue Optimization: Identify strategic opportunities for pricing optimization, payer contract improvements, and reimbursement uplifts.
- Self-Pay Strategy: Oversee and refine the self-pay and patient responsibility strategy while ensuring full PCI and regulatory compliance.
- Revenue Recognition: Partner with Accounting and FP&A teams to ensure monthly revenue statements strictly align with GAAP and healthcare accounting standards.
- Internal Controls: Collaborate with Compliance to maintain rigid internal controls for billing, collections, payment reconciliation, and quality reporting.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Actively stay ahead of regulatory changes that could impact healthcare reimbursement rules and corporate revenue recognition.
- M&A Integration: Support the seamless financial integration of new acquisitions with a clear focus on long-term scalability and financial performance.
- Tech & Automation ROI: Evaluate the financial returns of technology, external vendors, and internal investments to drive efficiency through process automation.
- Executive Representation: Serve as the primary, strategic financial voice of the RCM division to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with clinical, operational, and corporate finance teams to align business incentives and organizational outcomes.
- Team Accountability: Cultivate a performance-driven culture with clear, data-driven accountability systems across the entire revenue cycle lifecycle.
Requirements:
BS degree
CPA a plus
10+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle and financial leadership roles
Deep expertise in reimbursement, payer dynamics and revenue optimization required
