A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.Organize materials and complete writing assignments according to established standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminologyMaintain records, documentation files, and revision histories for technical content and publicationsCollaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to establish technical specifications and determine subject matter for publication developmentDevelop and author mechanical service procedures and technical documentation for Chassis, HVAC, Powertrain, Body, Interior, and Exterior systemsEdit, update, and maintain existing technical content while supporting global content ownership across multiple regions and teamsCreate technical graphics using Teamcenter and Vis Mockup from engineering math dataDevelop service procedures and documentation using Arbortext and standardized text stringsOrganize and manage publication content by section, subsection, and information typeCollaborate with Design and Process Technology teams to resolve engineering math data availability issuesPartner with internal departments and suppliers to support cost reduction initiatives, process improvements, and product enhancementsSupport implementation of engineering and technical documentation improvements across department programsProvide technical guidance and support to team members and support personnel as neededCommunicate technical information effectively with internal and external customer organizationsStay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to technical documentation and engineering processes
