Job Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller will oversee all core accounting functions and serve as a key strategic partner in guiding the firm's financial performance. This hands on role requires outstanding technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to refine controls within a sophisticated professional services environment. Main duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Lead all accounting operations including monthly, quarterly, and annual close
• Oversee financial reporting, general ledger integrity, and compliance with US GAAP
• Develop forecasts, budgets, and financial models supporting business planning
• Manage audit preparation and act as the primary liaison for external auditors
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and risk management processes
• Oversee billing, trust accounting, collections, and cash management activities
• Review daily bank activity and monitor cash flow
• Support tax planning and coordinate with external tax professionals
• Prepare financial insights for leadership and provide ad‑hoc analysis as needed
• Manage a small team of 3 finance professionals, supporting continuous improvement and development.

The Successful Applicant

In return for a competitive remuneration package, the successful candidate will possess the following:

• Bachelor's degree
• CPA (ideal but not essential)
• 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, ideally in a professional services or partnership structured environment
• Demonstrated experience leading accounting teams
• Ablity to operate at a strategic level, but also comfortable with rolling up one's sleeves where necessary.

• Base salary $ 250,000 to $ 275,000, dependant upon experience
• Annual bonus (ranging from between $ 10,000 to $ 60,000 - performance pending)
