Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Officer to develop, grow, and manage a high‑quality commercial lending portfolio. This role is ideal for a relationship‑driven lender who thrives in a community‑focused financial institution and excels at building long‑term partnerships with business members.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients, originating new businesses, managing an existing portfolio, and ensuring exceptional member experience throughout the lending lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
Business Development & Relationship Management- Represent the institution in the local business community to strengthen brand presence and referral networks.
- Maintain and expand an existing commercial loan portfolio while identifying opportunities for additional products and services.
- Source, develop, and grow commercial lending relationships through proactive outreach, networking, and community engagement.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitive products, and regulatory changes impacting commercial lending.
- Solicit, structure, and originate commercial loans, ensuring complete and accurate financial information is obtained.
- Serve as the central point of contact for applicants throughout the loan process, ensuring timely communication and follow‑through.
- Monitor portfolio performance, manage renewals, and maintain strong credit quality in alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Cross‑sell relevant financial products and services to deepen member relationships.
- Adhere to all internal policies, lending standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Partner with credit, underwriting, and operations teams to ensure smooth processing and delivery of commercial loan products.
- Occasional local travel for business development and client meetings.
- Proven success in a sales‑driven, production‑oriented commercial lending role.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Professional communication skills and the ability to build trust with business members.
- Ability to work independently, manage a pipeline, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, credit analysis, and regulatory requirements.
- 3–5 years of experience in commercial or business lending within a financial services environment.
- Existing commercial loan portfolio or demonstrated ability to bring established business relationships.
