Travel Radiation Therapist (Radiation Oncology) – Sumter, SC. 13-week hospital contract. ARRT (R), SC license, and BLS required.
Join a dedicated hospital radiation therapy team in Sumter, South Carolina for a 13-week travel assignment. Job Details- Location: Sumter, SC 29150 (Sumter, South Carolina)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,030 – $2,190
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hours/week) — no weekends
- Setting: Hospital Radiation Therapy Department (Radiation Oncology)
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Daily Census: Approximately 45 patients per day
- Floating: May be required to float to other qualified units within the health system
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, preferably in radiation oncology or hospital radiation therapy
- Current ARRT (R) certification
- Active South Carolina Radiation Therapist state license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Experience with external beam setups, immobilization devices, treatment planning coordination, and radiation safety
- Experience with adult and pediatric outpatient care, infection control, and PPE
- Management or lead experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred (documentation experience in hospital EMR systems is a plus)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments per physician orders and established radiation oncology protocols
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain treatment machines and associated equipment for safe, accurate delivery of external beam therapy
- Perform precise patient setup, verification imaging, and immobilization to ensure treatment accuracy and patient safety
- Ensure patient comfort and education throughout the treatment process
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to provide high-quality care
- Adhere to radiation safety, ALARA principles, and infection control procedures
- Accurately document treatments and patient responses in the EMR (EPIC preferred)
- Float to other qualified units as needed based on census and operational needs
- Consistent weekday schedule—no weekends—ideal for work–life balance
