Assistant Manager-Tire Shop
Tire Headquarters is seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Assistant Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our tire shop.
This is a hands-on management position. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for tire sales, customer service, invoicing and payments, employee supervision, used-tire inventory, and assisting with tire installation when needed.
We are looking for someone who already understands the tire business. Previous tire shop experience is required.
Saturday and Sunday availability is required for this position.
Primary Responsibilities
Tire Sales & Customer Service- Greet customers and determine their tire needs
- Sell new and used tires
- Recommend appropriate tire sizes and options based on customer needs
- Answer questions regarding tire condition, pricing, installation, and availability
- Provide professional and efficient customer service
- Collect and process customer payments
- Maintain accurate sales and payment records
- Handle customer concerns and help resolve issues professionally
- Assist with telephone inquiries regarding tire availability and pricing
- Help develop repeat customers and maintain strong customer relationships
Used Tire Grading & Inventory
The Assistant Manager must have a strong understanding of used tires and be able to:
- Grade and inspect used tires
- Determine whether a used tire is suitable for resale
- Identify tire sizes and specifications
- Sort tires by size, type, condition, and quality
- Properly organize used-tire inventory
- Maintain an orderly tire storage system so inventory can be located quickly
- Monitor inventory and communicate which tire sizes or products are needed
Tire Installation & Shop Operations
Prior hands-on tire installation experience is required.
Candidates must have experience with:
- Removing and installing wheels and tires
- Mounting tires
- Dismounting tires
- Balancing tires
- Inspecting tires before installation
- Properly inflating tires
- Safely lifting and handling tires and wheels
The Assistant Manager may be required to assist technicians during busy periods and should be capable of performing tire installation and balancing when necessary.
Employee Management- Assist with supervising tire technicians and other shop employees
- Help maintain employee productivity throughout the day
- Monitor quality of work
- Ensure customers are served efficiently
- Address employee performance issues and communicate concerns to management
- Maintain an organized and professional work environment
- Ensure employees follow safety procedures
- Assist with opening and closing responsibilities
- Help ensure the shop is properly staffed and prepared for daily business
Requirements
Candidates must have previous tire shop experience and should be able to demonstrate knowledge of:
- New and used tire sales
- Tire sizes and specifications
- Used-tire grading
- Tire mounting and dismounting
- Tire balancing
- Tire-changing equipment
- Customer service
- Shop operations
- Schedule Requirement
Weekend availability is mandatory.
The Assistant Manager must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday as part of the regular work schedule.
Candidates must be able to:
- Lift and handle tires and wheels weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the workday
- Work in an active automotive/tire shop environment
- Safely operate tire-changing and balancing equipment
- Assist employees with physical shop work when necessary
Benefits
We offer accrued paid time off (40 hours per year starting after probation period)
Compensation is $17-$20 per Hour USD
