Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technician for an 8-week travel assignment in Torrance, CA. This role is ideal for a skilled OR tech who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in maintaining sterile environments within a fast-paced surgical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures
- Assist surgical teams during procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique
- Ensure proper setup and organization of sterile fields and delivery tables
- Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs to support efficient workflow
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment throughout all surgical cases
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care
Shift & Scheduling:
- Night or Day shifts available (3x12-hour shifts)
- Weekends and holidays required
- Must be able to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirement
Requirements:
- Active certification as a Surgical Technician
- Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient Surgical Tech experience required
- 2 years of total Surgical Technician experience preferred
- Required certifications:
- BLS
- MAB/CPI Certification
- Fire Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching or high-volume surgical facilities is a plus
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR is beneficial
