About the Role

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join a heavy civil construction team in Chagrin Falls, OH.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction project management. You will work closely with Senior Project Managers, Project Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects organized, financially controlled, and moving according to plan.

This is not a desk-only engineering position. The right person will be comfortable working across project coordination, scheduling, documentation, cost tracking, procurement, and day-to-day construction operations.

You will receive direct exposure to experienced project leadership and have the opportunity to grow into greater project management responsibilities.

• Support Senior Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy civil construction projects.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure work is organized and progressing according to project requirements and schedules.
• Monitor project progress and identify issues that could affect timelines, costs, or overall project goals.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including client instructions, project issues, scope changes, and other project records.
• Communicate with project stakeholders and ensure important project information is properly documented and addressed.
• Track project expenses and assist with accurate project billing and financial reporting.
• Identify and support cost-saving opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with subcontract creation and procurement activities.
• Build and maintain productive working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and other project partners.
• Coordinate project schedules with Project Superintendents and project teams to keep field execution aligned with planned timelines.
• Assist with managing changes to project scope and maintain organized records of project modifications.
• Support project closeout activities, including financial settlements and coordination with the finance team.
• Work closely with senior project personnel to learn construction project management practices and progressively take on greater responsibility.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Construction project experience with a strong interest in developing a career in project management.
• Understanding of construction project coordination, scheduling, documentation, and cost tracking.
• Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping project information accurate and organized.
• Comfortable working in a team-oriented construction environment.
• Strong interest in growing within the heavy civil construction/project management field.
• Ability to work full-time and on-site in Chagrin Falls, OH.
