Location: Cohoes, NY
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8 Hours | 40 Hours/Week

Pay Package

Travelers: $1,500 – $1,800 Weekly

Local Candidates: $1,200 – $1,400 Weekly

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide occupational health and pre-employment screening services in a professional healthcare setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care, including services requiring sterile techniques.
  • Conduct medical diagnostic and occupational health testing for pre-employment, return-to-work, and employee physicals.
  • Perform testing using equipment such as:
  • Blood pressure cuffs
  • Vision testing equipment/Ortho-Rater
  • Audiometry/hearing equipment
  • ECG/EKG machines
  • Respirator fit-testing equipment
  • Spirometry/pulmonary testing equipment
  • Calibrate and adjust testing instruments and independently document test results.
  • Administer blood and blood products as required.
  • Collect, package, and process blood specimens, including chain-of-custody procedures for blood alcohol testing.
  • Obtain urine specimens for drug testing and complete required chain-of-custody documentation.
  • Perform vital signs and blood pressure checks.
  • Conduct pre-employment screenings, including TB testing.
  • Administer required immunizations such as Hepatitis B, MMR, Td, and influenza.
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding general health information.
  • Complete filing, copying, data entry, documentation, and other clerical duties as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records.
  • Follow established occupational health, safety, infection-control, and documentation procedures.
Requirements
  • Active New York State LPN/LVN License.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience after licensure.
  • Phlebotomy experience is required.
  • Experience with occupational health, employee health, pre-employment screening, or similar clinical services is preferred.
  • Ability to independently perform diagnostic testing and accurately document results.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional, employee-focused healthcare environment.
