Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry RN delivering care to cardiac stepdown, respiratory, renal, stroke, and post-op patients.

- Shift: 12 Hour Nights — Night Shift Travel RN, Telemetry RN
- Employment Type: Travel
- Unit: PCU / Stepdown (Intermediate coronary care unit) — Cardiac stepdown, progressive care
- Current RN license in Ohio or a compact state (required) — Registered Nurse, Travel RN
- BLS and ACLS (required)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required)
- Dysrhythmia Exam (required; study guide available)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience (required); 6 months acute care hospital experience preferred
- Previous cardiac / vascular or telemetry experience preferred (Telemetry RN, Cardiac stepdown experience)
- EPIC EHR experience and Critical Care Course (preferred)
- CCRN or PCCN certification (preferred) — critical care and progressive care credentials
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze clinical data, and develop individualized care plans for PCU patients
- Administer medications safely and accurately and manage IV drips and titratable medications
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and manage cardiac drips (heparin, cardizem, amio, nitro, insulin)
- Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, wound vacs, and multiple drains
- Provide care for patients with multi-system organ failure, trauma, and complex medical needs in an acute care setting
- Coordinate patient care and act as the primary point of contact for care coordination and discharge planning
- Serve as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement and clinical initiatives
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to ensure optimal outcomes
- Respond confidently and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions while following AACN Synergy Model and BSMH Nursing Professional Practice Model
