Location: Columbia, Missouri

Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Evening Shift – 5x8 Hours (11:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

Rotating Weekends (Every 3rd Week)

Weekly Hours: 40 Hours

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week travel assignment at a leading healthcare facility. This role is essential in supporting surgical and clinical operations by ensuring proper decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
  • Assemble instrument trays, sets, and supplies based on surgical schedules and priority needs
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper assembly
  • Operate and troubleshoot steam sterilizers and related processing equipment
  • Maintain accurate sterilization records and logs in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and compliance guidelines
  • Manage inventory of sterile and non-sterile supplies
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or processing issues
  • Follow manufacturer instructions and industry best practices for instrument processing
  • Ensure timely distribution of sterile supplies to operating rooms and other departments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience required
  • Prior travel experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control standards
  • Experience with steam sterilization equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
