Senior Test Director - Autonomy / AI / HIL with Security Clearance

Job Description: Indigo is seeking a Test Director to lead high-visibility test and evaluation efforts for AI-enabled autonomy and multi-domain systems supporting Department of War missions. This role will drive the planning and execution of complex test events across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and live environments, focused on JADC2 and system-of-systems integration.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in operational testing, autonomy systems, and multi-platform integration, and thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. Key Responsibilities: -Lead end-to-end test planning and execution for multi-domain autonomous systems (air, maritime, ground)

- Translate CONOPS into executable test plans, scenarios, and mission threads
- Define Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs)
- Oversee test events across virtual, HIL, and live operational environments
- Coordinate integration across multiple vendors, platforms, sensors, and C2 systems
- Ensure interoperability across heterogeneous architectures and communications systems
-Lead data collection, telemetry integration, and post-test analysis
-Deliver decision-quality reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Interface with DoW customers, OUSD(R&E), and industry partners
- Support demonstrations and Distinguished Visitor (DV) events Required Qualifications: -Active Secret clearance (or TS, TS/SCI)
- 10+ years of experience in test & evaluation, operational experimentation, or systems integration within DoW or defense industry
- Experience leading complex test events involving multiple systems and stakeholders
- Strong understanding of autonomy, AI/ML systems, or C2 architectures
- Experience with simulation, HIL testing, or live range operations
- Ability to translate mission needs into technical test objectives and measurable outcomes Preferred Qualifications: -Experience with JADC2 or system-of-systems integration
- Familiarity with digital twins, modeling & simulation environments
- Background in ISR, Air Operations Centers (AOC), or operational C2
