Job Overview
The CT Technologist performs CT scans and diagnostic imaging procedures. This role involves preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring high-quality images while maintaining patient safety.
Key Responsibilities- Perform CT scans and diagnostic imaging procedures
- Prepare and position patients for imaging exams
- Review patient history and verify exam requirements
- Operate CT equipment and ensure image quality
- Administer IV contrast when required and monitor patient reactions
- Follow radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principles)
- Assist radiologist with procedures when needed (e.g., biopsies)
- Maintain accurate documentation in imaging systems (PACS/RIS)
- Ensure proper stocking and cleanliness of imaging rooms
- Minimum 1 year of CT Tech experience
- Experience in hospital or trauma setting preferred
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- CT Certification (ARRT-CT or registry eligible)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ongoing continuing education as required
