Student Internship - Junior Software Developer with Security Clearance

(the company) is looking for a College Intern to support the advancement of our SBIR programs.

Experience / Degree Progression towards a related STEM degree.

• Ability to write software or scripts in any or all of the following languages or scripting environments (Java / Scala / Python / Rust / Typescript / Javascript / Bash / Powershell)
• Apply IaC practices to design consistent, reproducible environments for testing and deployment.
• Machine learning basics
• familiarity with common ML concepts, workflows, and model development, including training, validation, and evaluation.
• Database experience
• knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL), schema design, queries, and data integrity.
• Log and metrics platforms
• experience with ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or comparable tools for data ingestion, indexing, and visualization.
• Version control & CI/CD
• proficiency with Git workflows (branching, merging, code reviews) and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• UI/Frontend development
• ability to design and implement user interfaces; experience with frameworks such as ScalaFX, JavaFX, React, or similar.

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
• Ability to work independently and in a small, fast-paced R&D team.

• Experience with cluster-based virtualization environments.
• Background in testbed development or systems simulation.
• Familiarity with DoD or critical infrastructure systems.
