Senior Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Machining (Automotive)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining) with strong automotive manufacturing expertise. This is a hands-on, shop-floor engineering role focused on CNC programming, process optimization, and continuous improvement to drive productivity, quality, and efficiency in high-volume production.
Key Responsibilities- Optimize CNC machining processes to improve OEE, throughput, and scrap reduction
- Develop, modify, and validate CNC programs for lathes and milling machines (vertical & horizontal)
- Lead toolpath strategy, cutting optimization, tooling selection, and workholding improvements
- Troubleshoot machining issues (cycle time, tool wear, chatter, dimensional variation)
- Support process capability (Cp/Cpk), first-piece approval, and quality validation
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standards
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience in automotive manufacturing
- Strong experience with CNC lathes and milling machines (Fuji, Mori Seiki preferred)
- Proficiency in Mastercam (or similar CAM software) and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and tolerance stack-ups
- Experience with CMMs, tool presetters, and measurement systems
- Knowledge of SPC, process control, and capability studies
- Hands-on shop floor troubleshooting experience
- High-volume automotive manufacturing experience
- Multi-axis machining experience
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
- ERP/MES system experience
- Experience leading process improvement projects
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment
