CT Technologist - CT Tech
Job Details:
- Operate and maintain x-ray equipment, fluoroscopic equipment, and c-arm equipment ensuring proper functionality and safety
- Capture and process x-ray, fluoroscopic and c-arm images with proper image quality and clarity
- Operate computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs for diagnostic purposes
- Assist and administer contrast media as ordered by radiologist
- Assist radiologists during interventional procedures including biopsies, injections, and drainages using CT images for guidance
- Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes
- Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and request removal of metal objects
- Monitor staff and patients entering scan room to ensure no metal or hazardous items are present
- Transport patients according to their physical abilities relative to exams requested
- Use positioning aides as needed to produce quality patient exams
- Maintain compliance with all Federal, State and DNV rules and standards
- Practice sterile technique and Universal Precautions
- Evaluate exams for technical quality and maintain all records, logs and reports
- Clean rooms and restock supplies following each examination
- Assist in training of radiology students
- Responsible for quality control for x-ray, CT, and MRI areas as required
