Quality Control Technician

responsibilities: Key Responsibilities- Analytical Testing: Perform precise qualitative and quantitative tests on work-in-process and finished products using instrumentation including pH meters, HPLC, and Malvern Mastersizer.
- Sensory Evaluation: Conduct organoleptic testing (taste, smell, appearance) at various stages of compounding and packaging to ensure adherence to flavor and texture profiles.
- Compliance & Approval: Approve batches for packaging and confirm finished products for shipment; proactively place non-conforming products on hold for further investigation.
- Microbiological Oversight: Prepare and submit samples for microbiological testing and maintain detailed records of all test results.
- Data & Inventory Management: Utilize SAP to execute corresponding inventory movements and ensure real-time tracking of product status.
- Lab Stewardship: Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment; prepare necessary reagents and solutions for daily testing protocols.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor conditions in compounding and storage areas, providing actionable recommendations to enhance safety and production efficiency.
- Sample Retention: Accurately file and maintain retained samples for long-term quality tracking and audit readiness.
qualifications: Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field. HS Diploma if more than 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation (specifically pH meters and analytical balances).
- Software: Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, SAP and standard laboratory information management systems.
- Physical/Environmental: Ability to work 100% on-site in a production environment, adhering to all safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
- Detail Orientation: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and mathematical calculations for batch adjustments.
Preferred:
- Experience: Prior experience in a Food Science or high-volume production QC laboratory.
- Instrumentation: Direct experience operating HPLC or Malvern Mastersizer technology.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety standards (FSMA, SQF, or HACCP).
