The business is currently investing heavily in commercial growth initiatives and expanding its presence within complex OEM and energy supply chain environments.

This role represents a key strategic hire as the company continues to strengthen its leadership team, build deeper OEM relationships, and scale its commercial organization for long-term growth.

Job Description
  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on expanding the company's presence across oil, gas, and broader energy markets
  • Drive growth with OEMs, contract manufacturers, service centers, and Tier 1-3 suppliers supporting upstream, midstream, and downstream applications
  • Identify and secure opportunities where precision-engineered metal products and value-added processing capabilities provide differentiated customer value
  • Build executive-level relationships across key accounts while maintaining strong credibility with engineering, operations, and procurement stakeholders
  • Provide technical and commercial guidance related to engineered metals, tolerances, material grades, heat treatment, and application-specific requirements
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful execution and long-term customer retention
  • Support the evolution of the commercial organization by mentoring and developing existing sales talent while helping establish scalable sales processes and market strategy
  • Deliver market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer insights to leadership to support long-term planning and vertical market expansion initiatives
  • Operate autonomously in a highly visible leadership role with significant customer-facing engagement and travel throughout North America

The Successful Applicant

A successful Vice President of Business Development - Oil & Energy Markets should have:

  • 10+ years of commercial leadership and business development experience within industrial metals, engineered materials, or adjacent technical product markets
  • Strong experience selling into oil & gas, energy, heavy industrial, or process manufacturing environments
  • Background working with OEMs, Tier 1-3 suppliers, contract manufacturers, or large industrial end users
  • Technical understanding of engineered metal products, material specifications, tolerances, machining considerations, and value-added processing capabilities
  • Proven ability to develop strategic customer relationships and grow complex industrial accounts across large geographic territories
  • Track record of driving both new business development and long-term account expansion initiatives
  • Experience operating in entrepreneurial or growth-oriented manufacturing environments preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with interest in mentoring, coaching, and helping scale commercial organizations over time
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively across engineering, operations, procurement, and C-suite stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America (approximately 50-60%)
  • Texas-based candidates or those with strong regional market relationships preferred
