Job Description
  • Develop manufacturing processes by analyzing product requirements; researching, designing, testing, and refining methods, equipment, and tooling; and collaborating with external equipment vendors
  • Assess current manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, troubleshoot issues, and manage related projects
  • Enhance manufacturing methods to drive cost savings, improve quality, and increase efficiency
  • Create and present improvement plans, and oversee implementation, including training for team members
  • Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes covering production flow, assembly techniques, and equipment selection
  • Create and maintain detailed facility layouts, including equipment placement and workflow optimization
  • Support new and revised product launches by setting objectives, coordinating implementation, training staff, and evaluating outcomes
  • Develop procedures and processes to help achieve financial targets and production goals
  • Establish efficient and effective workflow sequences
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to existing manufacturing challenges
  • Design, source, and validate tools, fixtures, machinery, and equipment, ensuring cost justification for proposed solutions
  • Conduct product and process analysis to improve cost efficiency, quality, safety, productivity, and training effectiveness

The Successful Applicant
  • Experience with precision sheet metal fabrication
  • Process improvement and continuous improvement experience
  • Willingness to be hands-on, troubleshooting issues on the floor
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
