Position Summary
Aspen Earthworks is seeking a Project Manager to take full ownership of project execution from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on budget, schedule, and client relationships.This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving financial performance, operational alignment, and successful project delivery.
The Project Manager works closely with superintendents, estimators, clients, and subcontractors and is accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Aspens standard of execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Ownership & Execution
Own the full lifecycle of projects from handoff through closeout
Align field operations, schedule, and budget to ensure successful execution
Maintain control of project scope, sequencing, and deliverables
Drive decision-making to keep projects moving forward
Financial Management & Cost ControlManage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking
Monitor job cost reports, production, and margin performance
Identify risks early and implement corrective actions
Manage change orders, billing, and cost recovery
Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reporting
Planning, Scheduling & CoordinationDevelop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field leadership
Lead lookahead planning (2-week and 6-week) with superintendents
Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
Remove constraints that impact schedule and production
Client & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and key stakeholders
Build and maintain strong relationships through consistent communication and follow-through
Lead project meetings and ensure alignment across all parties
Represent Aspen professionally in all interactions
Contract Management & DocumentationManage contracts, subcontracts, and project documentation
Review plans, specifications, and contract requirements
Oversee RFIs, submittals, and change management processes
Ensure proper documentation for claims, delays, and scope changes
Field Collaboration & SupportWork closely with superintendents to align field execution with project strategy
Support field teams in problem-solving, logistics, and coordination
Ensure field operations have the resources needed to perform efficiently
Stay engaged in the field not just behind a desk
Risk ManagementIdentify project risks related to cost, schedule, safety, and quality
Proactively address issues before they impact performance
Ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards
Project CloseoutOversee final billing, retention, and financial reconciliation
Ensure completion of punch lists, as-builts, and turnover documentation
Deliver clean project closeout with strong client satisfaction

Qualifications5+ years of project management experience in civil construction, site development, or concrete
Strong understanding of job costing, budgeting, and financial forecasting
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts
Strong communication and leadership skills
Experience with construction software (HCSS, Procore, or similar)
Experience with accounting software (Sage or comparable)
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
Preferred QualificationsExperience with large-scale site development or heavy civil projects
Background working closely with field operations and crews
Strong understanding of subcontractor management and procurement
Proven track record of delivering profitable projects
Work EnvironmentCombination of office and active construction site work
Regular site visits required
Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
