Description
American Traveler is looking for a Physical Therapist to provide hybrid inpatient rehab and acute care coverage, requiring 2+ years of orthopedic experience and current BLS certification.
Details- Hybrid role covering both Inpatient Rehabilitation and Acute Care settings
- Patient population includes Medical-Surgical, post-operative, and ICU cases
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM-4:30 PM), Monday-Friday
- No weekends required
- Float between Inpatient Rehab and Acute Care based on facility needs, and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby depending on volume/census
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, with orthopedic experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- IN state license required if applicable
- Experience with acute care work settings preferred
- Skilled in assessment techniques including AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, and strength testing
- Proficient in documentation including evaluations, care plans, and short/long-term goals
- Experience with equipment such as gait belts, walkers, sit-to-stand lifts, sliding boards, and hospital/specialty beds
- Experience with geriatric, neurology, and orthopedic patient populations preferred
- Knowledge of home exercise programs and patient/family education
- Experience with total hip and total knee replacement patients preferred
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning across inpatient and acute care settings
- Maximum RTO is 7 days; travelers must be willing to work 1 of 3 holidays if RTO falls during a holiday period
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the hospital are considered local
- Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
