Job Overview:We are seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Engineer to join our Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) team at our Mount Holly, NJ office. This role involves the design, development, analysis, and coordination of plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm, fire protection, and specialty piping for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop plumbing systems (domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, and specialty piping systems)
- Perform system and hydraulic calculations including pipe sizing, pressure loss, flow rates, equipment selection, and layout design in accordance with local codes and standards (IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE,
- Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, national standards, and green building requirements (LEED, WELL)
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Prepare detailed construction documents (drawings, specifications, and schedules)
- Coordinate and collaborate with architectural, mechanical HVAC, electrical, and structural teams for seamless project coordination
- Assist in preparing technical reports, proposals, and engineering studies
- Assist with construction cost estimating and scheduling
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to verify compliance with design intent and code requirements
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during construction administration phase
- Provide mentorship to Junior Engineers and Designers
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 3-5 years of relevant experience required
- Strong knowledge of civil plumbing engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in design software: Revit, GIS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Mathcad
- Experience in project management and engineering
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
