The ideal candidate will have a strong system administration background and a keen understanding of security principles and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage security controls and technologies to safeguard our systems, networks, and data against cyber threats.
- Carry out regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to proactively spot and mitigate security risks.
- Collaborate with system administrators and IT teams to integrate security best practices into system designs and configurations.
- Monitor security logs and respond to security incidents, conducting thorough investigations and implementing remediation actions.
- Develop and upkeep security policies, procedures, and documentation in line with industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Conduct security awareness training sessions for staff to improve overall security posture and promote a culture of cybersecurity.
- Stay updated with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and recommend security enhancements accordingly.
- Assist in the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend security tools, solutions, and services to enhance our security posture.
- Utilize skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Design, Firewall Technologies, Application Security, System Administration, Microsoft 365 Enterprise to perform job duties effectively.

- This is a full-time position based in Seattle, WA and offers a hybrid remote schedule of 1-2 days onsite per week.

- Proven experience (5+ years) in system administration roles, managing and maintaining enterprise-level IT infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in system and network administration, including Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Experience with VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V administration, M365, AWS.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of the OSI model as it pertains to troubleshooting and system architecture
- Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools, penetration testing, and incident response procedures.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) and experience implementing security controls to meet regulatory requirements is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are preferred.
