Principal Finance Manager, Amazon Strategic Initiatives

As Principal Finance Manager, you will operate independently and cross-functionally to drive financial strategy and deliver results in a fast-moving, start-up environment. Assignments will be ambiguous and demand a highly analytical, intellectually curious leader with sharp judgment who can evaluate situations through the lens of the customer, business owner, and financial investor.You must be strategic in vision, rigorous in analysis, and proven in managing competing priorities while influencing decisions through compelling financial narratives, data-driven recommendations, and creative alternatives. This role requires regular engagement with senior business and finance leaders across Amazon.
Key job responsibilities- Lead and partner with cross-functional teams across strategic initiatives, ensuring operating plans deliver strong returns on investment and sustainable, long-term growth
- Shape strategic decisions by developing and presenting analyses, frameworks, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership
- Evaluate and steer business plans encompassing pricing, monetization, roadmap, resourcing, and investment allocation
- Define and analyze key metrics to measure business and financial performance; surface insights that accelerate improvement
- Own end-to-end P&L forecasting and reporting across multiple planning cycles
- 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
- 8+ years of spearheading strategic cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable financial results and advance organizational objectives experience- MBA, or CPA
- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- Experience managing and leading employees
- Experience working with technical and business stakeholders from global cross-functional teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
