We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist to join a hospital team in Chicago, IL. The RRT will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatments and care for patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary needs. Responsibilities include providing intensive respiratory care, patient transport, administering physician-prescribed therapies, operating and maintaining ventilatory equipment, performing diagnostic testing such as arterial puncture, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, and 12-lead EKGs, and assisting with procedures including bronchoscopy and chest tube management.

The clinician will perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines. Accurate documentation, effective communication with physicians and care teams, and participation in equipment maintenance and quality processes are required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Current Illinois respiratory care license in good standing.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Minimum one year of experience as an RRT in a hospital setting or acute care environment.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience operating and monitoring mechanical ventilators, performing arterial puncture, and interpreting basic chest x-ray findings.
• Ability to perform tracheostomy care, endotracheal intubation support (including video laryngoscope), suctioning, and participate in bronchoscopic and chest tube procedures.
• Experience with oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function testing, and 12-lead EKG acquisition.
• Ability to document respiratory therapy treatments and charge capture accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience in high-acuity or critical care units, including familiarity with invasive and non-invasive ventilation modes.
• Prior experience working in a teaching or tertiary care hospital preferred.

• Shift pattern: Night, 3x12.
