Senior Staff Accountant

Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

- Monday - Thursday 8:00am
- 5:00pm in office and Friday 8:00am
- 5:00pm remote

At Chord Specialty Dental Partners, we are committed to supporting high-quality dental care by providing operational excellence to our affiliated practices. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team.
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in driving an efficient and accurate close process while serving as the subject matter expert for ASC 842 lease accounting. This position partners closely with Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate rent processing and collaborates across the organization to support strong financial operations.
In this role, the Senior Accountant delivers meaningful financial insights through detailed account analysis and reporting, helping inform business decisions and strengthen overall financial performance. Key responsibilities include leading month-end close activities, maintaining general ledger integrity, and supporting the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly close process, preparing and posting journal entries and performing account reconciliations across revenue, accruals, payroll/benefits, fixed assets, debt, and prepaids
- Maintain and reconcile AR-related balance sheet accounts; prepare reserve files, revenue allocation schedules, and AR roll forwards
- Own end-to-end ASC 842 lease accounting, including monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of Visual Lease
- Coordinate with AP to ensure rent and CAM payments are accurate and processed on time; review sublease and rental income accounts monthly
- Conduct monthly CapEx reviews, maintain fixed asset records, post depreciation, and prepare CapEx summary reporting
- Prepare monthly accrual, benefit allocation, and prepaid amortization entries
- Perform monthly account analysis and expense reviews, researching variances and preparing adjusting entries as needed
- Maintain the general ledger, researching and resolving discrepancies as they arise
- Work closely with Accounting Clerk and Staff Accountant
- Provide support during the year-end audit, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Support management with financial analyses, ad hoc reporting, and special projects as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- MBA or CPA certification a plus
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Great Plains and Visual Lease experience a plus
- Some healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with working in a multi-company environment.
- Advanced Excel skills including lookup formulas and pivot table creation
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and take ownership from start to finish
- Good verbal and written communication skills
